2-day weekly holiday won’t harm students’ study: Dipu

DHAKA, August 23, 2022 (BSS) –

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni today said if educational institutions are closed for two days in a week, there will be no harm to the study of students.

“Two-day holiday in a week would not hamper the study of students, rather, they can get energy for study after getting two-day holiday in a week,” she said.

Dipu Moni made the remarks after placing a wreath at the mausoleum of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara, Gopalganj.

“Electricity and energy crisis across the globe is going on…That is why we have taken this initiative so that we can save energy,” she added.

Earlier, she paid homage to Bangabandhu on behalf of National University.

Deputy Minister of Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel, National University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Moshiur Rahman, and Gopalganj District Administrator Shahida Sultana, among others, were present.

After reciting the holy Fateha, they prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls of the martyrs of August 15, 1975, including Bangabandhu.
