Chinese FM Wang Yi welcomes Bangladeshi students to return to China Soon

On August 7, when meeting with H.E. Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen, Bangladeshi Foreign Minister in Dhaka, H.E. Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Mr. Wang Yi officially declared that all Bangladeshi students are welcome to return to China from now on, and student visas will be issued as soon as possible.
In the morning of August 7, the visiting Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister H.E. Wang Yi held a bilateral talk with his counterpart, the Hon’ble Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Dr. A.K. Abdul Momen.
The two top diplomats reassured their commitments to Strategic Partnership of Cooperation between the two countries, and pledged to elevate it to a new level through deepening mutually beneficial cooperation.
During the meeting held in a cordial atmosphere, they touched upon issues on bilateral trade and investment, development cooperation, Covid-19 pandemic response, renewable energy, science and technology, cultural cooperation, people-to-people connectivity, and cooperation in international fora, etc.
They also discussed the Global Development Initiative, and jointly explored opportunity of cooperation on some other new aspects.
H.E. Wang elaborated on China’s standing on the Taiwan question, and appreciated Bangladesh’s consistent one-China policy.
He also secured expeditious returning of all Bangladeshi students to China to resume studies. Other issues of importance, including repatriation of displaced people from Myanmar, were also discussed during the talk.
According to a release by the Embassy of China in Bangladesh, the long-standing friendship between China and Bangladesh is accelerating the development of both countries, promoting common prosperity and shared bebefits.
Both countries have considered each other indispensable partners for the past 47 years, with a strong belief in the principles of mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, mutual non-aggression, non-interference in each other’s internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit, and peaceful coexistence.
China believes that this friendship will take the two countries to unlimited heights. 
Foreign Minister Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen, MP spoke at a press briefing held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this afternoon to brief the journalists about the outcome of the recent visit of the State Councilor & Foreign Minister of China H.E. Wang Yi to Bangladesh on 6-7 August 2022.
Four bilateral instruments and cooperation documents were signed in the areas of road infrastructure, disaster management, culture and tourism exchange and knowledge cooperation in marine science during the visit.
