A new book written by Foreign Minister A. K. Abdul Momen, MP was launched today.
It highlighted Bangladesh’s successes over the last 50 years and the potential to grow further.
LGRD Minister Md Tazul Islam attended the ceremony as chief guest held at Foreign Service Academy, Dhaka.
Bangladesh Public Service Commission member and Dhaka University Prof Dr Delwar Hossain; and President and Managing Director of AB Bank Limited Tarique Afzal, among others, spoke at the function.
The book titled “Bangladesher Ponchash: Safollo O Somvabona (50 Years of Bangladesh: Successes and Potentials)” contained 23 write-ups among which eighteen articles are written in Bangla while five in English.
The book, published by Zhumzhumi Prokashon, was dedicated to the author’s elder brother and former finance minister late AMA Muhith.
Diplomacy in the era of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh’s foreign policy compulsions, constraints and choices; global stability, security and prosperity after Covid-19, Sheikh Hasina’s development miracle and an epic saga of an indomitable nation are some of the areas that the Foreign Minister discussed in the book.
Minister Tazul Islam said this “wonderful book” will inspire people from all generations and congratulated the author on writing the important book.
He said there are people who do not want to acknowledge the achievements of the country but the fact is that many countries are following Bangladesh noting its incredible growth.
A cultural function was held to mark the launching ceremony.
