ICDDR’B Bill 2022 places in parliament

 

DHAKA, Aug 30,2022 (BSS) –

 

International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b) Bill-2022 was placed in the parliament.

The bill, placed by Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque , was later sent to the parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for further scrutiny and submit a report within a month.

Placing the bill, the minister said the bill will replace the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research,1[Bangladesh, Ordinance, 1978.

 The bill also proposed to set up Icddr’b in Bangladesh and also its headquarters in Dhaka.

BNP lawmaker Harunur Rashid of Chapainawabganj-1 gave objection on the bill  which was rejected by voice votes.
