Mosharraf Hossain Bhuyian visited Czech Republic
Dhaka November 17 2021 :
Md. Mosharraf Hossain Bhuyian,ndc, the H.E. Ambassador of Bangladesh visited Czech Republic during 11-13 November 2021.
During the visit, he met Mr. Pavel Jaros, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Ambassador underlined that there are untapped areas of mutual cooperation where economic diplomacy could act as a catalyst in taking the bilateral relations to new heights during the meeting held at the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He also stressed the importance of enhanced people-to-people ties, exchange of academics/researchers and cooperation between the think-tanks.
The Ambassador expressed his optimism that the existing relations between the countries will be further expanded with the new government to be formed within next month. The Czech Deputy Minister assured that he would facilitate the meetings with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Economy and Trade once the new government is formed to sustain as well as renew the economic diplomacy initiatives of the government of Bangladesh.
The Ambassador later met Boris Kalisky, Director of Operations, Prague Security Studies Institute (PSSI) and Zdenek Beranek, the Director of EUROPEUM Institute of European Policy.
The possibilities of joint research, exchange of researchers and exploration of further areas of cooperation between the think-tanks of Bangladesh-EU were discussed during the meetings with the respective Directors of the think-tanks.
The Ambassador also met Roman Hvezda, the Head of ELI Beamlines, an international scientific user facility funded by EU and operating world’s most intense laser driven secondary sources, one of the premier State of Art Laser Technology Research Centers in Europe.
The Ambassador had later been oriented with the facilities of the Research Center.
He flagged the possibilities of collaboration on the field of Laser Physics, Plasma Physics, Bio-medical engineering and joint research on infectious diseases during the meeting.
Dr. Ziaul Hoque, a scientist of Bangladeshi origin working at ELI Beamlines facilitated the meetings with the think-tanks and the Scientific Research Center during the visit.
