PM mourns death of Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah

 

DHAKA, July 23, 2022 (BSS) –

 

 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Deputy Speaker of the Parliament and valiant Freedom Fighter Advocate Fazle Rabbi Miah.

In a message of condolence, she said, “Fazle Rabbi Miah was involved in the movements against Ayub Khan and 1962’s education commission and he fought in sector no-11 during the Liberation War.”

“He will be remembered forever due to his contribution to the parliamentary democracy,” she added.

The premier prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

Fazle Rabbi Miah, also Parliament Member of Gaibandha-5 constituency, passed away on July 22 (NY time) in New York while undergoing treatment there.
