PM opens Padma Bridge North, South police stations
DHAKA, June 21, 2022 (BSS) –
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today inaugurated some development schemes of Bangladesh Police, including two newly set up police stations – Padma Bridge North and South.
Joining a programme virtually from her official residence Gonobhaban here, the Prime Minister also handed over 120 more houses, built in second phase by the police, to the landless and homeless people alongside opening 12 district police hospitals modernised under a project , six women barracks and online general diary (GD) system this afternoon.
The Prime Minister earlier distributed over 400 houses built by the police to the beneficiaries on April 10 last commemorating the Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to support the Awami League government’s move to bring all the homeless and landless under the housing scheme.
Bangladesh Police simultaneously organised the function at the Gonobhaban, Rajarbagh Police Lines, Padma Setu North Police Station, Munshiganj, Women Police Barak end Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP), Khulna, Mymensingh Police Hospital and Police Line end at Pirojpur district.
A video documentary on the five development schemes of the Bangladesh Police was screened at the function.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan,MP, and Senior Secretary of Public Security Division Md Akhter Hossain spoke on the occasion while Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Benazir Ahmed gave the address of welcome.
