President for recruiting more Bangladeshi skilled, semi-skilled manpower in Kuwait 

 

DHAKA, Aug 30, 2022 (BSS) –

 

President M Abdul Hamid today urged the Kuwait Government to recruit more professionals as well as more skilled and semi-skilled manpower from Bangladesh in different sectors.

The head of the state made the call as the new resident ambassador of the State of Kuwait Faisal Mutlaq Aladwani presented his credentials to him at Bangabhaban this evening.

Thanking the Government of Kuwait for financing in different development projects in Bangladesh, the President also requested for enhanced participation of Kuwait in different development projects in the days to come.

He stressed on the joint initiatives at government and private levels to increase trade and investment between Bangladesh and Kuwait, President’s press secretary Md Joynal Abedin told BSS later.

Bangladesh produces world-class products, particularly readymade garment (RMG), ceramics, pharmaceuticals, leather products, jute and jute products, frozen fish, electronics, furniture plastic ware and construction materials, the President mentioned. 

Receiving the credentials, the President appreciated Bangladesh ties with the two countries and said Bangladesh attaches utmost importance to its relations with Kuwait. 

Noting the existing excellent bilateral ties between the two countries, he hoped that these relations would further strengthen in the days to come.

Meanwhile, the President later received the credentials of new ambassador Ghanshyam Bhandari of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal through a separate ceremony after he was ceremonially welcomed here.

The President recalled the supports of the Nepalese people to Bangladesh in 1971 and recognition to the new born nation soon after the independence as he talked to the Nepalese envoy, the Bangabhaban spokesman said.

Referring to the visit of Bangladesh President to Nepal in 2019 and subsequently the visit of Nepalese President in Dhaka, 2021, Abdul Hamid said these visits helped reach the relations at a new height presently. 

President Hamid also put emphasis on more increasing communications between the two countries for the mutual benefits. 

Lauding the Bangladesh initiatives to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic, the Nepalese envoy expressed his gratitude to the Bangladesh Government for providing support to Nepal during then.

The President assured the envoys of providing his all out cooperation in discharging their duties in Bangladesh in cementing further Bangladesh relations with Kuwait and Nepal. 

Secretaries concerned and high officials to the President were present at the separate subsequent ceremonies.

Earlier on their arrival at Bangabhaban, a contingent of the horse-mounted President Guard Regiment (PGR) offered the envoys guards of honour as part of ceremony.

The national anthems of the respective countries were also played by the army band and the ambassadors made a round of inspection of the guards of honour.
