President of Russia met with President of Iran, Seyed Ebrahim Raisi

Dhaka July 19 2022 :

Tehran, IRNA – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei received the visiting Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday evening.

President Putin, who is on a visit to Tehran, went to meet the Supreme Leader after a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi.

During the meeting earlier today, the two presidents discussed ways for expansion of bilateral relations in different areas, including energy, transit, trade exchanges and regional developments as well.

The Russian President is in Tehran to attend the 7th summit meeting of the guarantors of Astana peace talks.

Beginning of Russian-Iranian negotiations :

S. Raisi (as translated) : Dear Mr. Putin, thank you very much for accepting our invitation to come here in order to hold a bilateral and then a trilateral meeting in Astana format.

After our visit, meeting in Moscow first, then in Ashkhabad, everything is developing very fast, including our bilateral relations. Both sides have the necessary political will to develop the relations and put them into a practical field.

We have good, extensive experience with the Syrian direction. I think our region has become safer from this experience and our cooperation. Other countries only claim to fight terrorism, but our relationship and cooperation in the fight against terrorism proved that we can achieve the goals we set. I think this is very valuable, good experience in regards to increasing security in our region.

I sincerely hope that your official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran will be such a turning point in improving relations on regional matters as well as international agendas.

V. Putin: I am very pleased to be on the hospitable Iranian soil with our friends today.

Our relationship is really growing at a good pace. We can boast record numbers in terms of sales growth. We are strengthening our international security interactions, making a significant contribution to the Syrian conflict settlement.

Tehran : During a working visit to Iran, Vladimir Putin met with the Supreme Leader and Spiritual Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Tehran, IRNA – Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is on a visit to Tehran, met with his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi on Tuesday evening.

The two presidents reportedly discussed ways for expansion of bilateral relations in different areas, including energy, transit, trade exchanges and regional developments as well.

After the meeting in the presidential office, Raisi and Putin left for a meeting with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

The Russian President is in Tehran to attend the 7th summit meeting of the guarantors of Astana peace talks.
