Prime Minister’s message on the World Accreditation Day 

Dhaka, 8 June 2022 :

            Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given the following message on the occasion of the World Accreditation Day-2022 :    

“I am happy to know that the Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) is celebrating the ‘World Accreditation Day 2022’. On this occasion, I would like to extend my heartfelt greetings to all stakeholders and development partners of the BAB. The theme of the day this year- ‘Accreditation: Sustainability in Economic Growth and the Environment’ has appeared time befitting to me in the current global situation. 

Achieving unplanned economic growth is leading to global climate change, environmental degradation, and loss of biodiversity, which results in an imbalanced development. As a consequence, the world is constantly facing various threats and challenges. All stakeholders have to work together to address this challenge based on the mutual partnership by integrating economic, social and environmental aspects while protecting natural resources and the environment for future generations.

The Awami League government has integrated the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Seventh and Eighth Five-Year Plans to achieve the Goals by 2030. We have tirelessly been working to achieve a sustainable economic growth and environment through the implementation of various programs. As a result of the implementation of our government’s visionary and timely economic plan, Bangladesh has been ranked among the fastest-growing economies in the world in the last decade. In 2026, Bangladesh will graduate as a developing country from the list of least developed countries of the United Nations. Bangladesh is now a ‘Role Model’ to the world in poverty alleviation and development. I believe that Bangladesh will become a developed and prosperous country within 2041 by continuing this economic progress.

Accreditation is directly or indirectly contributing to the achievement of the ‘Sustainable Development Goals 2030’. I hope that BAB will play an important role in achieving national quality infrastructure development, sustainable economic growth, increasing exports, and protection of the environment, including achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

I wish the overall success of the ‘World Accreditation Day 2022’.

            President Md. Abdul Hamid has given the following message on the occasion of the World Accreditation Day 2022 :  

“I am delighted to know that the Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) is celebrating the ‘World Accreditation Day 2022’. This year the theme of the day, “Accreditation: Sustainability in Economic Growth and the Environment’, is very time befitting to me in the current global context.

Achieving sustainable economic growth and protecting the environment are essential prerequisites for overall economic development for any country. Across the world, imbalanced economic development increases hunger, poverty and inequality in societies. As a result, the world faces various obstacles and challenges. The adoption and implementation of appropriate economic planning are essential for achieving sustainable economic growth by protecting natural resources and the environment for future generations. This is a concerted effort. All concerned should work together based on mutual partnership to this end.

Accreditation, as an independent evaluation of conformity assessment body against recognized standards, ensures their impartiality, competence, and consistency. As a result, it creates credibility for goods and services among the consumers. Many countries in the world are working to overcome development barriers and challenges by incorporating accreditation systems into development programs. The government is implementing massive development programs to turn Bangladesh into a developed country by the year 2041. To achieve the target, we have to put all out efforts to uphold our living standards and make progress in the human development index. Accreditation can play an important role in this regard. I hope that BAB will continue its efforts to achieve sustainable economic growth, poverty alleviation, and elimination of all forms of inequality through accreditation activities.

I wish success to all the activities undertaken on the occasion of ‘World Accreditation Day 2022’.

বিশ্ব অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন দিবসে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর বাণী

          প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা আগামীকাল ৯ জুন ‘বিশ্ব অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন দিবস’ উপলক্ষ্যে নিম্নোক্ত বাণী প্রদান করেছেন : 

          “বাংলাদেশ অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন বোর্ড (বিএবি) ‘বিশ্ব অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন দিবস ২০২২’ পালন করছে জেনে আমি আনন্দিত। এ উপলক্ষ্যে আমি বিএবি’র সকল অংশীজন এবং উন্নয়ন সহযোগী সংস্থাকে আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা জানাচ্ছি। দিবসটির এবারের প্রতিপাদ্য- ‘Accreditation: Sustainability in Economic Growth and the Environment’ বর্তমান বৈশ্বিক প্রেক্ষাপটে সময়োপযোগী হয়েছে বলে আমি মনে করি।  

অপরিকল্পিতভাবে অর্থনৈতিক প্রবৃদ্ধি অর্জনের ফলে বিশ্বব্যাপী জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন, পরিবেশ অবক্ষয় এবং জীববৈচিত্র্য ধ্বংস হচ্ছে; সষ্টি হচ্ছে ভারসাম্যহীন উন্নয়ন। ফলে বিশ্ব প্রতিনিয়ত বিভিন্ন হুমকি এবং চ্যালেঞ্জের সম্মুখীন হচ্ছে। ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মের জন্য প্রাকৃতিক সম্পদ এবং পরিবেশ রক্ষা করে অর্থনৈতিক, সামাজিক ও পরিবেশগত দিকগুলো সমন্বয়ের মাধ্যমে পারস্পরিক অংশীদারিত্বের ভিত্তিতে সংশ্লিষ্ট সকলকে সম্মিলিতভাবে এ চ্যালেঞ্জ মোকাবিলার লক্ষ্যে কাজ করতে হবে।

আওয়ামী লীগ সরকার ২০৩০ সালের মধ্যে জাতিসংঘ ঘোষিত ‌‌‌‘টেকসই উন্নয়ন অভীষ্ট (এসডিজি)’ অর্জনের লক্ষ্যে এর লক্ষ্যমাত্রাসমূহকে সপ্তম ও অষ্টম পঞ্চবার্ষিক পরিকল্পনায় সমন্বিত করেছে। আমরা বিভিন্ন কর্মসূচি বাস্তবায়নের মাধ্যমে টেকসই অর্থনৈতিক প্রবৃদ্ধি ও পরিবেশ অর্জনে নিরলসভাবে কাজ করে যাচ্ছি। আমাদের সরকারের দূরদর্শী এবং যুগোপযোগী অর্থনৈতিক পরিকল্পনা বাস্তবায়নের ফলে বাংলাদেশ গত এক দশকে বিশ্বের দ্রুত বর্ধনশীল অর্থনীতির দেশের তালিকায় স্থান করে নিয়েছে। ২০২৬ সালে বাংলাদেশ জাতিসংঘের স্বল্পোন্নত দেশের তালিকা থেকে উন্নয়নশীল দেশে পরিণত হবে। বাংলাদেশ এখন বিশ্বের কাছে দারিদ্র্য বিমোচন এবং উন্নয়নের এক ‘রোল মডেল’। এ অর্থনৈতিক অগ্রযাত্রা অব্যাহত রেখে ২০৪১ সালের মধ্যে বাংলাদেশ একটি উন্নত-সমৃদ্ধ দেশে পরিণত হবে বলে আমি বিশ্বাস করি।

‘টেকসই উন্নয়ন অভীষ্ট ২০৩০’ অর্জনে অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন ব্যবস্থা প্রত্যক্ষ বা পরোক্ষভাবে সহায়তা করছে। আমি  আশা করি, টেকসই উন্নয়ন অভীষ্ট অর্জনসহ জাতীয় মান অবকাঠামো উন্নয়ন, টেকসই অর্থনৈতিক প্রবৃদ্ধি অর্জন, রপ্তানি বৃদ্ধি এবং পরিবেশ রক্ষায় বিএবি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করবে।

আমি ‌‘বিশ্ব অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন দিবস ২০২২’- এর সার্বিক সাফল্য কামনা করছি।

          “বাংলাদেশ অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন বোর্ড (বিএবি) এর উদ্যোগে ‘বিশ্ব অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন দিবস ২০২২’ পালিত হচ্ছে জেনে আমি আনন্দিত। দিবসটির এ বছরের প্রতিপাদ্য ‘Accreditation: Sustainability in Economic Growth and the Environment’ বর্তমান বৈশ্বিক প্রেক্ষাপটে অত্যন্ত সময়োপযোগী হয়েছে বলে আমি মনে করি।

টেকসই অর্থনৈতিক প্রবৃদ্ধি অর্জন এবং পরিবেশ রক্ষা সামগ্রিক অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়নের অত্যাবশ্যকীয় পূর্বশর্ত। ভারসাম্যহীন অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়ন সমাজে ক্ষুধা, দারিদ্র্য, বৈষম্য ও অসমতা বৃদ্ধি করে। ফলে বিশ্ব বিভিন্ন প্রতিবন্ধকতা ও চ্যালেঞ্জের সম্মুখীন হয়। ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মের জন্য প্রাকৃতিক সম্পদ ও পরিবেশ রক্ষা করে টেকসই অর্থনৈতিক প্রবৃদ্ধি অর্জনের জন্য সঠিক অর্থনৈতিক পরিকল্পনা গ্রহণ এবং বাস্তবায়ন অত্যাবশ্যক। এটি একটি সম্মিলিত প্রয়াস। এ লক্ষ্যে পারস্পরিক অংশীদারিত্বের ভিত্তিতে সংশ্লিষ্ট সকলকে সম্মিলিতভাবে কাজ করতে হবে।

স্বাধীন চিন্তাশীল কার্যক্রমের মাধ্যমে অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন সাদৃশ্য মূল্যায়নকারী প্রতিষ্ঠানের নিরপেক্ষতা, সাদৃশ্য সক্ষমতা ও সামঞ্জস্য নিশ্চিত করে। ফলে পণ্য ও সেবার ক্ষেত্রে ভোক্তার আস্থা অর্জন সম্ভব হয়। বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশ উন্নয়ন কর্মসূচিতে অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন ব্যবস্থাকে অন্তর্ভুক্ত করে উন্নয়ন সংক্রান্ত প্রতিবন্ধকতা ও চ্যালেঞ্জ মোকাবিলার লক্ষ্যে কাজ করছে। সরকার বাংলাদেশকে ২০৪১ সালের মধ্যে উন্নত দেশে পরিণত করতে ব্যাপক উন্নয়ন কার্যক্রম বাস্তবায়ন করছে। উন্নত দেশ হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি পেতে আমাদের অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়নের সাথে সাথে জীবনযাত্রার মানোন্নয়ন ও মানব উন্নয়ন সূচকে অগ্রগতি অর্জনে সচেষ্ট থাকতে হবে। এক্ষেত্রে অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন কার্যক্রমের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রয়েছে। আমি আশা করি, বিএবি তাদের অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন কার্যক্রমের মাধ্যমে টেকসই অর্থনৈতিক প্রবৃদ্ধি অর্জন, দারিদ্য বিমোচন, অসমতা ও সকল প্রকার বৈষম্য দূরীকরণে প্রচেষ্টা অব্যাহত রাখবে।

আমি ‘বিশ্ব অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন দিবস ২০২২’ উপলক্ষ্যে গৃহীত সকল কার্যক্রমের সফলতা কামনা করছি।
