Program of National Mourning Day

            Elaborate programmes have been chalked out to observe the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day on 15 August. The national flag will be hoisted half-mast in all government, semi-government, autonomous institutions, educational institutions and private buildings including Bangladesh missions abroad.

            At 6.30 am in the morning of 15 August, the President and the Prime Minister will lay floral wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi Road-32 in the capital. A guard of honor will be presented by the armed forces and prayers will be offered.

            At 7.30 am, the Prime Minister will place wreaths and flower petals in the Banani Graveyard on the graves of the family members of the Father of the Nation and other martyrs who were brutally killed on August 15, 1975, along with Bangabandhu, for eternal peace of the departed souls. She will also offer Fateha and munajat for salvation of the souls of the martyrs there.  

            The Prime Minister will pay homage to the Father of the Nation by placing wreath at mazar of Bangabandhu at Tungipara in Gopalganj at 10 O’clock in the morning. Apart from Honor Guard by the Armed Forces, Fateha will be recited and munajat will be offered at Bangabandhu Mausoleum complex.

Special doa and munajat will be held in mosques across the country after Johr prayers on August 15 marking the occasion. Special prayer programs will also be organized in temples, churches, pagodas and other religious institutions.

            Special supplement will be published in national dailies and periodicals on the occasion. Department of Films and Publications (DFP) has published posters for distribution across the country. Posters in English language have already been dispatched to Bangladesh diplomatic missions abroad. On the occasion of mourning day, Department of Mass Communication will screen documentary films on life and works of Bangabandhu across the country. The Press Information Department (PID) will organize a week-long photo exhibition at the Bangladesh Secretariat. Regional Information Offices under PID will also arrange Photo Exhibition at divisional level. Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television will organize special programs on the occasion.

            All public and private primary schools, high schools, madrasas, colleges, medical colleges and universities and other educational institutions will organize discussion meetings, poetry recitations, essay writing and painting competitions, art exhibitions, hamd-naat competitions and doa mahfils.

            In line with the national program, discussion meetings, doa mahfil and other programs will be held at the district and upazila levels. Government officials will actively participate in the events. All City Corporations, Municipalities and Union Parishads of the country will chalk out and implement their own mourning day programs.

 The programs of Dhanmondi, Banani and Tungipara will be broadcast live on Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television. Other private television channels, FM radio and community radio will also broadcast the programs live with the help of Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television.

 জাতীয় শোক দিবসের কর্মসূচি

           স্বাধীনতার মহান স্থপতি জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের ৪৭তম শাহাদতবার্ষিকী ও জাতীয় শোক দিবস যথাযোগ্য মর্যাদায় পালনের লক্ষ্যে বিভিন্ন কর্মসূচি গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে। ১৫ আগস্ট জাতীয় শোক দিবসে বিদেশে বাংলাদেশ মিশনসহ সকল সরকারি, আধা-সরকারি, স্বায়ত্তশাসিত প্রতিষ্ঠান, শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান ও বেসরকারি ভবনসমূহে জাতীয় পতাকা অর্ধনমিত থাকবে।

          ১৫ আগস্ট সোমবার সকাল সাড়ে ৬ টায় ধানমন্ডি ৩২ নম্বরে বঙ্গবন্ধু স্মৃতি জাদুঘর প্রাঙ্গণে জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের প্রতিকৃতিতে রাষ্ট্রপতি ও প্রধানমন্ত্রী পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণ করবেন। সশস্ত্রবাহিনীর অনার গার্ড প্রদান এবং মোনাজাত অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।

          সকাল সাড়ে ৭ টায় বনানী কবরস্থানে জাতির পিতার পরিবারের সদস্যবৃন্দ ও অন্যান্য শহিদদের কবরে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর পুষ্পস্তবক ও ফুলের পাপড়ি অর্পণের পর ফাতেহা পাঠ ও মোনাজাত অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।

          এদিন সকাল ১০টায় গোপালগঞ্জের টুঙ্গিপাড়ায় জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের সমাধিতে প্রধানমন্ত্রী পুস্পস্তবক অর্পণ করবেন। সশস্ত্রবাহিনীর অনার গার্ড ছাড়াও সমাধি কমপ্লেক্সে ফাতেহা পাঠ ও মোনাজাত করা হবে।

          শোক দিবসে সারাদেশের মসজিদসমূহে বাদ যোহর বিশেষ মোনাজাত অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। মন্দির, গির্জা, প্যাগোডা ও অন্যান্য ধর্মীয় প্রতিষ্ঠানে বিশেষ প্রার্থনার আয়োজন করা হবে।

তথ্য ও সম্প্রচার মন্ত্রণালয়ের উদ্যোগে জাতীয় দৈনিক ও সাময়িকীতে বিশেষ ক্রোড়পত্র প্রকাশ করা হবে। এছাড়া শোক দিবস উপলক্ষ্যে চলচ্চিত্র ও প্রকাশনা অধিদপ্তর পোস্টার প্রকাশ করেছে। সারাদেশে গণযোগাযোগ অধিদপ্তর বঙ্গবন্ধুর জীবন ও কর্মের ওপর প্রামাণ্য চলচ্চিত্র প্রদর্শন করবে। তথ্য অধিদফতর বাংলাদেশ সচিবালয়ে সপ্তাহব্যাপী আলোকচিত্র প্রদর্শনীর আয়োজন করবে। বিভাগীয় পর্যায়েও আঞ্চলিক তথ্য অফিস আলোকচিত্র প্রদর্শনীর আয়োজন করবে। বাংলাদেশ বেতার ও বাংলাদেশ টেলিভিশন শোক দিবস উপলক্ষ্যে বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠানমালার আয়োজন করবে।

সকল সরকারি-বেসরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়, উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়, মাদ্রাসা, কলেজ, মেডিকেল কলেজ ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়সহ অন্যান্য শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান আলোচনা সভা, কবিতা পাঠ, রচনা ও চিত্রাঙ্কন প্রতযোগিতা, চিত্র প্রদর্শনী, হামদ-নাত প্রতিযোগিতা ও দোয়া মাহফিলের আয়োজন করবে।

          জাতীয় কর্মসূচির সঙ্গে সঙ্গতি রেখে জেলা ও উপজেলা পর্যায়ে আলোচনা সভা, দোয়া মাহফিলসহ অন্যান্য কর্মসূচি পালিত হবে। অনুষ্ঠানসমূহে সরকারি কর্মকর্তাগণকে আবশ্যিকভাবে সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণ করতে হবে। দেশের সকল সিটি কর্পোরেশন, পৌরসভা ও ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ শোক দিবসের নিজ নিজ কর্মসূচি প্রণয়ন ও বাস্তবায়ন করবে।

ধানমন্ডি, বনানী ও টুঙ্গিপাড়ার অনুষ্ঠান বাংলাদেশ বেতার ও বাংলাদেশ টেলিভিশনে সরাসরি সম্প্রচারিত হবে। এছাড়া অন্যান্য বেসরকারি টেলিভিশন চ্যানেল, এফএম বেতার ও কমিউনিটি রেডিও এ অনুষ্ঠানসমূহ সরাসরি সম্প্রচার করবে।
