Dhaka August 24 2022 :
Commentary by M. V. Zakharova in connection with the rough exaggeration of the results of the telephone conversation between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Russia and France on August 23 20212.
Immediately after the telephone conversation between the ministers of foreign affairs of Russia and France, messages were noticed on the news feeds of foreign media giving a distorted interpretation of its content.
It seems as if the French side has almost “sold” its position. C is actually the case. V. Lavrov put everything in its place clearly and clearly, urging Paris to influence its wards in Kiev, who, having completely lost their minds, continue to bombard the Zaporizhzhya NPP (UPP), the city of Energodar and the surrounding areas.
In the conversation, the French minister was stated, and not once, that the Russian agreement to hold an international IAEA mission to the UAEA, which Paris is pursuing with incomprehensible persistence, was given on June 3. Both the UN Secretariat and the IAEA are well aware of this.
Yes, and French colleagues are fairly own of the situation, although they are trying to seek some additional clarifications from the Russian side.
In this regard, we emphasize: recently, we have repeatedly, including publicly, explained in detail the situation with the preparation of the IAEA mission.
We express deep regret that the mission has not yet taken place. As we know, this is the deplorable result of dirty games by the UN Secretariat. If now colleagues in the West, including Paris, believe that it is the practical implementation of such a responsible event, then this is an important and positive change of their approach.
Until now, the curators of Kiev have worked exclusively to disrupt the IAEA mission, playing along to the constant provocations of the Kiev regime, including dangerous shelling of the UPP.
Russia, like no other, is interested in IAEA representatives being at the station, seeing with their own eyes the devastating consequences of its shelling by the Ukrainian side and giving an objective – harsh – assessment of what is happening. We urge Western countries to stop indulging in geopolitical ambitions and whims of the B regime. Zelensky, and to put nuclear safety interests at the forefront.
Further permissiveness of Ukrainian shelling of the NPP is not just criminal, it can turn out to be a “shot in the head”. We hope that Paris understands this and will be able to finally undress their torn “client” in Kiev.
