Greetings to exercisers, athletes and all those working in fitness and sports

Dhaka August 13 2022 :

Vladimir Putin congratulated workers in the sports and fitness industry on their professional holiday on August 13 2022.

The message reads, in part:

“Established way back in 1939, this holiday brought together a large number of people of different ages, professions, and passions around its goals; it promoted the values of physical fitness, a healthy and active lifestyle, the development of sports clubs and voluntary societies, groups and schools. And of course, holding large competitions and sports days, sports festivals and parades of athletes is rightfully associated with it.

It is gratifying that these wonderful traditions are being strengthened today and enriched with new ideas and initiatives. In cities and towns, sports infrastructure is being improved; cutting-edge stadiums, training and wellness centres are being built, school gyms and outdoor sport areas are being modernised, and the level of training of coaches is being raised.

I am convinced that this truly enormous, necessary work must be continued. It is important that everyone be able to find something to their liking and choose a sport that is right for them.”

Greetings to participants, organisers and guests of the ninth Russian Open Ploughing Championship

The President sent greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the ninth Russian Open Ploughing Championship being held in the Leningrad Region on August 12 2022.

The message reads, in part:

“Today, the best farm machinery operators from many Russian regions and a number of foreign countries have gathered here in the Leningrad Region to compete in skills, share their experience, and discuss important professional problems.

In our country, cultivating the soil has always been an honourable profession that commanded great respect and required special qualities and sincere love for this work. It is gratifying that you preserve and develop the traditions of such creative, conscientious and painstaking work, demonstrating serious successes and achievements. Let me emphasise that the state will continue to support agricultural producers and promote the widespread introduction of innovative technologies and the implementation of large investment and infrastructure projects. Of course, our absolute priority is to improve the quality of life in rural areas and enhance the prestige of jobs in the agriculture sector. It is important that more and more young people choose to work in agribusiness. Such ambitious and useful initiatives as your championship certainly encourage this trend.”
