Sweden’s cooperation with MJF to combat gender-based violence
Dhaka December 15 2021 :
“We must act now, and we must act together to achieve peaceful and inclusive societies which provide access to justice for all and respect and protect the rights and dignity of all people”, said the Swedish Ambassador to Bangladesh, Alexandra Berg von Linde at an event organized by Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) recently.
The event was a part of the celebrations of International Human Rights Day and showcased different aspects of human rights that are promoted and ensured by MJF’s downstream partners, said a recent release of the embassy.
The event put the spotlight on diversity and inclusion and provided an opportunity for the audience to listen to the voices of grassroots organizations and people.
Various human rights-related issues were also highlighted through cultural performances.
The Swedish Ambassador also stressed that it was crucial to ensure that developmental progress is sustained through continued inclusive efforts and by making sure to leave no one behind.
Sweden’s cooperation with MJF works to combat gender-based violence and to build greater community resilience to the impact of climate change and natural disasters.
