Youth remanded in case over unscrewing nut-bolt of Padma Bridge

SHARIATPUR, June 27, 2022 (BSS) –

A court here today placed a youth on seven-day remand in a case lodged over unscrewing nuts and bolts of newly-inaugurated Padma Bridge’s railing.

Shariatpur Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Salehujjaman passed the order as Criminal Investigation Department (CID) produced Md Bayezid Talha before the court and pleaded to place him on 10-day remand in the case lodged under The Special Powers Act.

CID arrested Bayezid from the capital’s Shantinagar area on June 26, shortly after his TikTok video went viral where he was seen unscrewing the nuts and bolts from the railing of the bridge.

Terming this as a subversive act, Special Superintendent of Police of CID Rejaul Masud at a press briefing today said, “”It is not possible to unscrew the nut-bolt of the Padma Bridge railing by bare-hand, without any equipment.”
